Our Story

Hi flower friends! My name is Megan and I, along with my husband Brad and our two kiddos, started Local Blooms in 2022.

Brad and I moved back to Ohio in 2020 just before covid. After living in a 600 square foot apartment for the last few years in Asheville NC, Loudonville felt like a breath of fresh air. I missed the rolling hills and both my husband and I took advantage of our newfound freedom. We started making syrup from our families’ woods, foraging all the mushrooms we could, and growing produce as well as a small cut flower garden.

After a couple of years of becoming better growers, Local Blooms was born. We got lucky enough to move to a property adjacent to my mom and dad’s home. We’re tucked away in the woods between 3 large oak trees with family just over the river and through the woods (creek really, but I digress). Each year our farm has grown as well as our family. We are more determined than ever to leave this land a sort of Eden for our children and others, and lucky for all of us that plan includes the most beautiful blooms we can manage to grow.

Local Blooms operates as a farmer-florist enterprise. We not only grow, but arrange flowers as well. We offer à la carte event florals, a traveling flower bar, bouquets available for pick up, and on Saturday mornings you can find us at the Loudonville Farmer’s Market.
